A person with knowledge of the situation says defenseman Scott Niedermayer will announce his retirement from the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday. The source, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the official announcement hadn't been made, says Niedermayer will retire four months after captaining Canada to a gold medal at the Vancouver Olympics.
